The design for the rear garden of a charming coach house in central Ely has been approved and will be built in Spring 2019.
The garden of this period house is already quaint and charming but levels built up over the years are too high and are causing damp.
The new design maintains the rustic and informal character of the house and greater garden but lowers the levels all around the oldest part of the house by creating terraces at floor level with steps up to another terrace which has views of the cathedral.
Materials of sandstone and old brick pavers will create a period feel and planting will be soft and informal.
