About Paul

Paul Dracott has been designing and building gardens throughout the UK and Europe for over twenty years and has gained a reputation for detailed hardlandscape schemes softened with naturalistic planting.

Paul studied Horticulture, Garden Design and Hard Landscape at London’s Capel Manor College before moving to Cambridge to set up his Garden Design and Build business. Collaborations with architectural practices have allowed his gardens to seamlessly link architecture and interiors with the wider outdoors and his gardens have won numerous awards and have featured in many shows and exhibitions.

Returning to Capel Manor College as a lecturer in 2010, Paul specialised in hardlandscape and garden construction, teaching the topic to garden designers and landscapers. As a visiting lecturer, he has also delivered talks and courses in hard landscape at prestigious design schools around the UK. Paul now focuses full time on design and build garden projects, writing and consultancy. His latest project is a long awaited book on Garden Hardlandscape for Packard Publishing.

“Gardens are my passion. I love visiting gardens and investigating new ideas and ways of planting. I consider each project however large or small a challenge and hope my passion for gardens and detail is clear in each completed project.”

^ Over the last ten years Paul has been renovating an old stone farmer’s cottage in the South West of France. The garden of about one acre is now maturing nicely.

< The latest addition has been the establishment of a wild flower area. A carefully chosen chalk flower mix is now in its second year and we are hoping for orchids to start colonising.
